Mexico Memories!

The playgrounds in Mexico City (at least the few I saw) pleasantly reminded me of a colorful version of my own playgrounds as a kid in Flushing NY. None of that "modern" wood chip or foam rubber padding to land on, if you lost your grip while on top, you had the metal bars to bounce off on the way down and the ungiving rock surface to smack your head on, the way God intended. Mine were simply grey concrete and unpainted metal, but these "space age" inspired constructions, also seemingly built in the '60's, sported at least a dozen bright chipped old layers of the greens, oranges, reds, yellows and blues that are the color scheme for the whole city.
Son Leo is now inspired to start welding classes so one day we can duplicate these in the back yard. I'll have to start pouring concrete over the grass to get ready!
